Terminology: 'Gnosis through tarot' explored

Updated: Jun 20

Gnosis means ’to know’. It’s the moment we have an epiphany, an awakening, and understand something completely. ‘Gaining gnosis’ can be described as receiving divine (higher) knowledge, and implicitly understanding how to apply this wisdom ourselves - so rather than just being told something, we are really absorbing what it means. For example, ‘knowing of’ Santa Claus, is not the same as ‘knowing them’ through a conversation, or even better, ‘being’ Santa Claus for a brief moment.

We saw this idea in our ‘astral magic’ tarot card contemplation a few posts ago, where we are inviting the celestial forces down to gain their ‘gnosis’. Their wisdom, expressed through a tarot card, then through us as we read the card, means we are experiencing their consciousness through our own minds eye. Our tarot reading has given us a particular card, and a particular type of conciousness to see our situation through, so it suggests this is a relevant way for us to 'see'.

Using tarot card 21: ‘The World’ pictured above as an example, we see gnosis on a grand scale. This astral-nought now dances to their own tune. The ‘boundary’ and ‘Mandala’ (self within the universe) suggests that, their dedication to gaining worldly wisdom, has opened up the gateway to truly knowing themselves. 🌎 ✨ #tomar #gnosis #tarot #astralmagic #theworld #explored #astralnought
