Terminology: 'Tarot astral magic' explored

A TOMAR figure contemplating The Empress tarot card, looking at the star of Venus

When we create a meditation ritual with a tarot card, we are drawing on the principles of ‘Astral Magic’ - attracting the power of an ‘astrological force’ down to us, so we can effect our situation.

Often this magical process is seen as psychological, that if we associate with an archetypal way-of-being, then we naturally encourage these traits in ourselves. However, this magic can also be seen as literal - our characters are shaped by external ideas and examples - so where does the source of this power really lie?

Despite differing opinions in how Astral Magic works, the process is always described as being similar. To invite these divine energies down, we create a ‘home from home’.

A recognisable place (the talismanic symbols on a tarot card) that encourage a spiritual exchange; and once we have created this ‘sacred space’ the real magic begins.

When we attune ourselves in our environment like this, we become a receptacle. The ‘like’ of the celestial force is attracted to the ‘like’ of us. This divine energy needs a ‘conscious being’ to be understood and expressed though - and we are that being.

Using card 3: ‘The Empress’ picture above as an example, here we are channeling the star of ‘Venus’ - the ‘natural attraction’ (the beauty of truth) that is essential for birthing all positive success. If we contemplate the birds, plants and insects as mother nature does, then, in this moment, we are sharing her consciousness. A wisdom through which we see that attracting ‘positive environments’ (3, triangle, a haven of love) will encourage our own potential to bloom. 🌺🐝✨ #tomar #astralmagic #tarot #explained #theempress #venus
